One of the many reasons clients seek out a Lymphatic Drainage/Post-Op Therapist is to help manage pain. Surgeons don’t emphasize the discomfort you’ll experience when recovering from surgery for obvious reasons, and many clients underestimate the level of discomfort they will experience. Often, this is general soreness from trauma to the tissue, a feeling of tightness in the skin, as well as a burning sensations in the areas where fluid tends to accumulate.

Since the lymphatic system is completely disrupted by surgery it’s important to have a licensed therapist manually clear the drains and move the the fluid towards them, which results in significant pain reduction. This also helps resolve the uncomfortable tightness and overall soreness.
